Special Education Teacher (SPED)
that is certified in the state of practice to work in a school setting.This is a contract, full time position. Hours are expected to be 8:00am-4:00pm.Duties and Responsibilities Include:Create and implement the bell schedule/block schedule changing of classes in collaboration with our Director of Teaching and Learning and other middle school teachers.Proactively monitor and manage the middle school schedule.Collaborate with the middle school team to pick curriculum and support implementation.Develop a strong sense of community in the Middle School and ensure that collaborative expectations, routines, and procedures are being implemented across the three middle school classes.Guide the middle school teachers in implementing best teaching practices.Collaborate regularly with the Director of Teaching and Learning.Hold meetings with the Middle School team to support teaching needs and support the Director of Teaching and Learning in teacher meetings.Design and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum that caters to the unique needs of middle school students with autism.Utilize evidence-based practices to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).Facilitate the development of social skills and foster a sense of belonging among students.Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive strategies that support the holistic development of each student.Requirements include:Must have intermediate special education certification.Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).Special Education Certification (Required).Proven experience working with neurodivergent students--especially autistic students (Required).In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions.Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and experience in their development and implementation.About Centra:Centra Healthcare's mission is to provide unparalleled service enabling healthcare professionals to concentrate on caring for America.Benefits of a Local Contract or Travel Assignment through Centra:Mileage reimbursement to assignment (if applicable).Highly competitive pay package.401(k) plan with matching.Direct deposit and weekly pay.Medical credentials reimbursement.A chance to explore new places and new opportunities throughout the United States.The opportunity to make sure that the career you choose is a good fit before committing to a permanent scenario.High coverage of the premiums of a comprehensive health insurance plan.Housing accommodations or Lodging per diems (if you qualify for reimbursements).Flexibility of work schedule, including guaranteed hours (if applicable).Assignment completion bonuses (if applicable).Please apply online for this fantastic opportunity.
