Sr General Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the annual year-end audit process with external accountants
  • Support the annual budget process
  • Prepare accurate and timely month-end reporting package
  • Prepare month-end operational reports
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Perform account reconciliations, analysis, and post journal entries as part of the monthly closing cycle
  • Participate in inventory reconciliation responsibilities, reconcile book to physical.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement initiatives that more fully leverage our current investments in technology and personnel
  • Ensure all documents are maintained in accordance with company document retention and storage policies
  • Adhere to finance policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Projects as required and/or directed
  • Help with process improvements
  • Responsible for Revenue recognition of storage and non-standard billings including system setup, maintenance and monthly reporting/analysis
  • Review of various revenue transactions and reporting
  • Help with daily inventory reconciliations
  • Work with various groups across the company

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Minimum

  • BS/BA Degree Bus Admin, Accounting or Finance


Preferred

  • Inventory or cost accounting knowledge


Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in all aspects of general ledger accounting or
  • Minimum 2 years experience in public accounting industry - "Big 4" preferred.


Language and Technical Skills requirement

  • Transaction oriented with detailed understanding of process flows
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards 9.0 ERP, Red Prairie, PNC Pinacle is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Open and communicative personality
  • Motivated and intellectually curious
