Targeted Hourly Pay : $25.99

Position Purpose:Responsible for safely transporting Regulated Medical Waste from the customer site to the Veolia Colton, CA location straight trucks. Ensures that the condition of the material packaging meets the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) specifications, inspects shipping paperwork for accuracy. Abides by all regulations set forth by DOT, EPA, state and local governments, and Veolia policies and procedures.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:Perform daily inspections of vehicle prior to driving to ensure safety and integrity of equipment going to designated sites.Prior to transporting materials reviews shipment records, container labeling, and integrity of loaded drums.Consults with customers pertaining to load conditions, drum counts, or paperwork inconsistencies to ensure that materials can be properly transported to designated site(s).Notify immediate supervisor of any moving violations and/or accidents in route to and/or from sites.Loading containers of RMW waste into a vehicle and securing containers for safe transportationProperly completing all RMW manifestsOther duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferredPrior commercial driving experience requiredRMW transportation experience preferredExperience driving a bobtail truck RequiredExperience using air brake requiredKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong team playerExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsTime management: the ability to organize and manage multiple tasksStrong customer service focusedRequired Certification / Licenses / Training:
Class C valid license
