Job Description

Responsible for assisting doctors/nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks might include things like feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing2. Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights3. Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities4. Performs post mortem care5. Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring6. Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN7. Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory8. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:1. HS Diploma or GED

Preferred:1. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written2. Patient, compassionate nature3. Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses4. Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems

Prior Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant experience strongly preferred

BLS preferred
