Part-Time Director of Community Engagement

IU Kokomo (IUK) seeks to fill a part-time position in community relations with a focus on P-12 engagement. The Director of Community Engagement will work directly with the Chancellor to strengthen and maintain IU Kokomo's service to schools, businesses, non-profits, and government entities in IUK's 14-county service region.
Department-Specific ResponsibilitiesOversees and provides leadership for the implementation of high school pathway programs (e.g., Tomorrow's Teachers) by working with program faculty, campus Pathway Specialist, and P12 school partnersPrepares resources and mechanisms for communication, data collection, and documentation of P12 engagement activitiesLeads the expansion and development of P12 engagement opportunities that are designed to serve schools in the region and promote college preparation, grow college enrollment, and meet local workforce and career needsCollaborates with IU and IU Kokomo colleagues and P12 school partners to create, implement, and evaluate high engagement opportunities for P12 students that support college readiness and enrollment and career explorationActs as a liaison with the Chancellor's Advisory Board and IUK's county advisory boardsWorks with the chancellor to build partnerships with other local partners--in business and government, for example - to serve the regionCollaborates with campus offices, staff, faculty, and others to execute new initiatives in workforce development, lifelong learning, etc.Qualifications
