Safety and Compliance Director
Location: Tampa, FL - West - Management - Regional OfficeHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Join Airgas, a leading supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as our Regional Director of Safety & Compliance to drive safety initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance across our regional locations in the industrial gas industry. With a rich legacy in the gas industry, Airgas is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in safety, compliance, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Champion and promote a strong safety and compliance culture at Airgas.Lead the regional Safety team, ensuring performance targets are met.Collaborate with division safety leadership on regional regulatory issues.Participate in the Airgas Emergency Response Operations (AERO) Team.Analyze data to evaluate initiative effectiveness and implement action plans.Direct innovative safety training programs and audits on standard operating procedures.Establish and implement regional safety goals, overseeing incident investigations.Work with divisional leadership on all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) issues.Guide regulatory compliance with DHS, OSHA, DOT, FDA, and EPA requirements.Manage DOT annual driver MVR process and coordinate EPA reporting.Empower location managers and associates to lead safety efforts.Are you a MATCH?Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).8+ years of safety & compliance experience in the industrial gas production and/or distribution environment.Detailed understanding of state and federal safety regulations in the industrial gas sector.CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification preferred.Skills & Abilities:Passion for driving safety initiatives with a goal of zero recordable injuries.Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications.Physical Demands & Work Environment:Some regional travel required (up to 50%) with occasional overnight stays.Reliable transportation necessary.Join Airgas and play a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety and compliance in the industrial gas sector.Your differences enhance our performanceAt Airgas, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.
