Bring your true colors to blue.Senior Business Analyst – Cost EstimationAs a member of the Care Navigation Delivery team, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the documentation of key user experiences, process diagrams, & data flows and develops detailed impact analyses as we build our future roadmap for Cost Estimation. In addition, this role is responsible for the creation of requirements for any new initiatives as they relate to cost estimation. Many of these systems rely on core business functions (ex. claims processing, provider contracting, network management) and a complex ecosystem, so a deep understanding of BCBSMA’s systems, business requirements, and data flow is critical for the long-term success of Care Navigation to ensure we achieve desired results.This role is inherently cross-functional, and you must be an effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are expected to dive deep into the technology from both understanding how medical costs are derived, as well as how a member’s benefits impact their out-of-pocket costs. The Senior Business Analyst-Cost Estimation must be an independent learner, a self-starter willing to initiate projects, and someone who anticipates member's needs.You should be a problem solver who is passionate about technology and enjoys working with engineering teams collaboratively, and equally comfortable interacting with business partners on their business needs. You should be somebody who is eager to lead programs that have both broad influence and unique technical challenges to solve. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting delivery across engineering, external vendor partners, & data disciplines, and an established track record of delivering large complex programs as well as effectively influencing up and across the organization.ResponsibilitiesAccountable for the facilitation & elaboration of user stories and/or requirements artifacts related to business features and epics with appropriate stakeholders (development team members, business stakeholders and others as needed)Ensures that user stories satisfy feature acceptance criteriaUnderstands and mentors teams on how to define "definition of ready" for user storiesUpdates team backlogs in preparation for sizing exercisesPartners closely with Product Owner & Product Managers on ensuring that stories are understood and satisfy the initiative & epic vision and will assist in backlog prioritizationParticipates in all ceremonies related to software development, including user story grooming, backlog prioritization & grooming, sprint retrospectives and any long-term planning sessionsUnderstands at a high level how to effectively split user stories, illicit story requirements, document system and business impacts in a way that can be understood by technical & non-technical resourcesWorks closely with solution architecture, engineering, external vendor, and data teams to deliver features to marketCreates and socializes appropriate artifacts in user story and requirement elaboration, including business process diagrams, customer journey maps, impact analysis, systems diagrams, data flow diagrams and any other appropriate artifact to ensure story completeness and clarityConsidered a SME for Cost Estimation, including all systems used to conduct business within Cost Estimation, business processes, operational teams and organization, and knowledge of data flows & systems flowsExperience/EducationBachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in systems or business analysisExperience with healthcare industry, software development, data, and systemsExtensive experience with cost systems, data, claims processing, and benefits, including external vendor software solutionsExperience with agile, SAFe, and/or waterfall methodologiesExperience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a productExperience defining and executing against both short and long-term roadmap strategiesExperience leading and influencing (without direct oversight) cross-functional teams to deliver products and programsExperience coordinating requirements across customer or stakeholder groupsPreferred QualificationsHealthcare domain knowledge, particularly all aspects of estimating member’s cost for medical servicesBroad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with omni platforms (website, mobile app, CRM)Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical and business concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partnersHigh attention to detail including precise and effective stakeholder communication, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneouslyExcellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executivesAbility to think strategically and execute methodicallyHistory of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job doneMinimum Education RequirementsHigh school degree or equivalent required unless otherwise noted aboveLocationBostonTime TypeFull timeSalary Range:

$96,840.00 - $118,360.00The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
