The Role:
We’re seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a strong background in renal biology to join our Discovery Department and contribute to building our pipeline for kidney diseases. Our ideal teammate will focus on driving scientific research to establish and validate targets for kidney disease. Responsibilities include, manage the day-to day lab operations as well as develop, characterize and implement in vitro models of kidney disease for evaluation of potential therapeutics.Major Responsibilities:
Establish and execute in vitro assays to evaluate efficacy, dose/response relationships, and characterize molecules for potential therapeutic effects.Contribute significantly to the optimization of 2D and 3D cellular models.Commit to helping the team achieve deliverables and meet aggressive timelines.Prepare, review and deliver high quality scientific presentations for internal/external use.Prepare SOPs for diverse assays and maintain accurate documentation of experiments.Manage lab inventory and day-to-day operations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Scientist with B.S. or M.S. in a kidney disease or relevant field. Industry experience is desirable but not required.Extensive hands-on experience in cell culture of iPSCs, commercial and primary cell lines is necessary.Proven track record of experience in standard molecular biology and cell biology methods.Extensive hands-on experience with cell culture, in vitro models (2D and 3D) of kidney disease.Experience with iPSCs and organoids is desirable.Experience with HTS, phenotypic screening using high content microscopy and imaging systems including confocal microscopy an advantage.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment.
