The St. Francis Cathedral School is a Catholic Pre-K to 8th grade school in the Diocese of Metuchen (Metuchen, NJ) with over 400 students. This position is responsible for providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining comprehensive educational programs and the ongoing development, assessment, and improvement of the curriculum, instruction, and professional development of school faculty.Work Year:

This individual must discern how to prioritize task and personnel assignments.Ability: Use mathematics, statistics, descriptive techniques, and predictive models to gain valuable knowledge from data.Be self-driven, possess excellent initiative, integrity, and good moral character.Possess ability to work effectively and efficiently alone, and cooperatively with other personnel.Exhibit personality traits that demonstrate interpersonal skills that relate well to students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.Other qualifications as the Principal may find appropriate.Job Functions and Responsibilities:Serve as a contributing member of the Principal’s leadership team and collaborate with the other functioning units of the school and cathedral community initiatives and challenges.Organize, plan, implement, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs, including curriculum development and instruction in all content areas, early childhood, compensation education, Accommodations Plans, and Individualized Service Plans.Develop and recommend to the Principal budget actions supporting curriculum, instruction, and professional development for the school faculty. Ensure that the recommended budget actions are in accordance with budget development directives and is comprehensively detailed.Establish and promote high standards and expectations for students and staff assigned to the curriculum and instructional areas, including the annually establishing school goals and objectives spiritually and academically.Conduct classroom visitations and assess educational effectiveness and assist the school principal in establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment.Coordinate and supervise curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation activities within the established schedule.Establish and follow procedures for the evaluation and selection of instructional resources (i.e., textbook, supplies, and equipment) with the oversight of a curriculum committee.Coordinate the development of school objectives, curriculum documents, performance benchmarks, timelines, and reports.Coordinate data collection and reporting.Oversee the fulfillment of school accreditation requirements, attend accreditation meetings, and act as chairperson of the accreditation committee.Conduct and develop professional development for faculty and staff based on evaluation data and conducted classroom observations.Ensure fair and consistent implementation of curricular and instructional policies, regulations, and procedures.Maintain a positive, collaborative, and mutually supportive working relationship with community agencies, parents, students, and district and school staff.Continue to grow professionally through research, formal studies, and collaboration with colleagues.Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as required by the diocese of Metuchen, regulations of the school, or requested by the school principal.Answer correspondence promptly.Represent, consistently, the School and Cathedral community in a positive and professional manner.Protect the confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information with appropriate parties.Ensure school compliance with diocesan policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws.Meet with the Principal regularly to discuss and set policy/programs, create yearly religious and professional goals, review/update handbooks, organize yearly activities for the calendar.Collect/Record/Manage Faculty Professional Development Hours.Organize standardized testing for ACRE and MAP including purchasing materials, distribution of materials, preparing testing schedules, and distributing data results to teachers.Serve as committee chair for responsibilities on Cognia and Blue Ribbon.Substitute for an absent teacher when a substitute is unable to be procured.Meet with teachers, pupils, parents/guardians as needed.Attend monthly Home School Association Board meetings, SAC meetings, and general HSA meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.If you are interested in this position, please send a copy of your resume, 3 references, and cover letter to
