POSITION SUMMARY

The Worship Director serves on the Worship Team at Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC). This position leads worship at their assigned campus and works with the Central Services Worship team to build and execute engaging Christ-centered musical worship experiences. In all actions, this role reflects the SVCC team leadership distinctives.

This position is approx 20 hours per week which includes 2 Sunday services. Potential to go fulltime with launch of new campus in 2025.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead the worship ministry at assigned campus including but not limited to weekend services and other ministries on campus (ex: Students Ministry, Celebrate Recovery, etc.).Recruit, train, and retain volunteer teams to lead worship both vocally and musically during weekend services and other campus ministry events.Regularly meet with and pastor volunteer teams and the congregation as needed, including funerals, weddings, pre-marriage and marriage counseling, hospital visits, and in the green room throughout weekend services. Lead volunteer teams in attending a weekend worship service.Lead rehearsals at assigned campus.Partner with and assist production staff with weekly campus prep.Rotate to other campuses to lead worship as needed.Participate in creative and artistic development through the SVCC studio as needed.Meet regularly with the Worship Leader team and participate in the creative process to support weekend worship services.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent and earned degrees and/or other training that has equipped them for the duties of the role.Two years of full-time experience in a church of 1,000+ in a similar rolePossess the musical, technical, and vocal ability to lead worship effectively in the context of SVCC.Demonstrate spiritual maturity and character consistent with the Biblical requirements for church leadership.Effective relational skills; proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and writtenSelf-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision.Teamwork orientation with ability to recruit, train, shepherd, lead, and motivate others.Agrees and aligns with the mission, vision, leadership distinctives, and doctrinal statement of SVCC.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
