Evolve Treatment Centers is looking for an enthusiastic Outpatient Counselor to join our team at our Outpatient PHP/IOP location in
San Jose, CA
!Our team provides the highest caliber of treatment to adolescents struggling with substance abuse and mental illness. This position is challenging yet rewarding as our staff have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of teens and their families.The Counselor position provides a great opportunity for someone who is interested in or currently pursuing a degree in the mental health or social services fields. In this role, you will gain exposure and experience working with teens that have significant mental health and substance abuse issues.Our ideal candidate is dedicated, responsible, reliable, and excited about working with teens with co-occurring disorders. We are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to adjust to the ever-changing nature of adolescent treatment.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Provide direct care and supervision to clients in the milieuProvide one-to-one support for clients and addresses areas where they need support with individual problemsMaintain vigilance and awareness of the peer community dynamic while monitoring the behavior, activities and safety of the clientsConduct and facilitate psychoeducation groups and recreational activitiesCrisis Management and intervention when necessaryResponsible for client shift notes and group note documentationFacilitate urinalysis testing for clientsEstablish a constructive therapeutic community in accordance with Treatment Center policiesRequirements:
Must be at least 21 years old or olderGood oral and written communication skillsPossess good personal and professional boundaries appropriate for a treatment settingAble to remain calm in a crisis situation for the safety of our clientsAble to be fully attentive at all times for client’s safety.Preferred Qualifications:BA degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, or related fieldSome prior experience working in a mental health settingPrevious crisis management experiencePrevious experience working with teensAdditional Information:This position pays $25/hr.Hours are Monday - Thursday 8 hours a day between 9-7 (This will either be 9-5 or 11-7), Friday 9 am - 5 pmThis is a full-time, onsite position.
