Our organizational structure is designed to empower you and facilitate a smoother path to successful project completion.SUMMARYThe successful candidate for this position will be responsible for providing civil engineering support for a wide variety of land development projects including residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, resort, recreation, infrastructure, and attraction.A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDEOur exciting and entrepreneurial culture will require you to think creatively, solve problems and meet the needs of our clients daily. A typical day might include the following:Preparing and overseeing civil engineering design for site geometry, grading, drainage, roadway, water distribution, wastewater collection/transmission, parks and other civil improvements.Preparing and overseeing development of design drawings, technical specifications, reports, cost estimates and other project deliverables.Analyzing technical information, performing engineering calculations, and advancing design concepts into effective and financially feasible engineering designs.Authoring technical reports such as due diligence reports, feasibility reports, design reports, and technical memoranda.Providing technical support throughout all project stages from request for proposal through final design and construction.Serving as Engineer of Record for various projects and/or project tasks.Preparing and participating in client meetings and presentations.Providing leadership and guidance for engineering interns and technicians.“MUST HAVE” QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field.Professional Engineering license.Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning, design and permitting of land development projects.Effective oral and written communication skills.Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.Highly organized with good time management skills.Experience in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, ICPR, HEC-RAS and other engineering design software.BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVEExperience with MicroStation ORD.Previous work experience in an AEC related firm.FDOT Advanced MOT Certification.OWN YOUR FUTURE AT LJAAs a 100% employee-owned company, LJA Engineering, Inc. promotes an entrepreneurial spirit that helps drive the bottom line and the long-term professional and financial success of our employees.
