Seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to perform mechanistic studies for the characterization of inflammatory and cell death pathways involved in the initiation and progression of solid tumors. The candidate will independently drive a research project which could include characterizing the role of the novel HAF-NFκB pathway in the initiation and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), identifying novel pathways related to iron metabolism in kidney cancer, and performing high throughput screens to identify novel small molecules with anti-cancer activity. Expertise in cell signaling pathways, particularly those implicated in cancer, is highly desirable. The candidate should also be able to write research articles and mentor lab technicians and graduate students with minimal supervision.Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular pharmacology or related field. High proficiency in general cell biology and molecular biology techniques including cell culture, molecular cloning, western blots, PCR, and cell viability/reporter assays is required. Experience in animal handling/surgery is desirable but not essential. Candidates should be organized, able to work independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative research environment. Fluency in English is required. Candidates should be eligible to work in the USA.Responsibilities:Perform laboratory experiments, which may include cell culture, molecular cloning, western blotting, PCR, small molecule screening, animal handling/surgery, and protein purification.Plan and execute experiments, perform data analysis, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Present data in group meetings, and at local and international meetings.Supervise lab technicians and students.Prepare manuscripts.Please provide your CV and list of 3 references.The University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute:
