POSITION SUMMARYThe Institutional Giving Assistant will join a 11 person fundraising team raising nearly $14 million annually from individual donors, foundations and institutions, corporate sponsors, and government to support our free programs in New York City parks. This position will support the day-to-day operations of our Institutional Giving portfolio. Reporting to the Manager of Institutional Giving, and working closely alongside the Institutional Giving team, the Assistant will take on the tasks necessary to successfully secure grant funds. These activities will include navigating grant portals, writing proposals, data entry, donor research and more. The Assistant should be interested and enthusiastic about delving into the world of grant writing and will gain valuable professional experience supporting CPF’s free programs.The Assistant must be available to work up to 15 hours per week (between the hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm) from September through December. Start and end dates are flexible. This is a paid, hourly position. Hybrid work (at least 1 day per week in office) preferred.COMPENSATION:
$20 per hourRESPONSIBILITIESPrepare timely acknowledgment letters for received gifts;Support grant proposal and report preparation, such as drafting copy, organizing application materials, selecting photos, and more;Assist with timely and accurate data entry and administrative tasks in Salesforce database;Conduct and prepare research on prospective sources of institutional funding;Assist with tracking correspondence and progress with institutions;Organize Google Drive documents and folders;Additional tasks may be assigned based on department need and interest.QUALIFICATIONSMust be able to work independently and remotely, using a personal computer equipped with wifi, camera and microphone for video conference calls;Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and have strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;Experience in writing, editing, and research;Proven ability to prioritize and work effectively under deadlines;Knowledge of Google Drive applications preferred;Development or fundraising experience preferred (academic or past internship experience);Ability to commute for in-person work at our office at least one day per week preferred.ABOUT CITY PARKS FOUNDATIONAt City Parks Foundation (CPF), we are dedicated to invigorating and transforming New York City parks into dynamic, vibrant centers of urban life through arts, environmental education, sports, and community building programs for all New Yorkers. Using parks as classrooms, we provide learning experiences and hands-on activities in urban forests, coastal areas, and gardens.Free golf, tennis, track & field, soccer, and fitness programs bring high-quality instruction and equipment into areas where few organized athletic opportunities exist. We offer leveled training, year-round scholarship coaching, and special pro events.
