About The Team:
The Applied Machine Learning (AML) team serves as ByteDance's central AI organization. We conduct focused research and engineering, with the support of massive computation resources, to build and deploy state-of-the-art AI core technologies.
Responsibilities:
The mission of our AML team is to push the next-generation AI infrastructure and recommendation platform for the ads ranking, search ranking, and live & e-commerce ranking in our company.
Participate in the application and optimization of machine learning algorithms in products such as Douyin (TikTok) and Toutiao, including areas such as recommendation systems, advertising, multimodal pre-training, and scientific computing.Collaborate closely with engineering teams to explore new algorithms under new architectures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Proficiency in C/C++ programming skills with a solid foundation, excellent programming style, and work habits.Familiarity with at least one mainstream deep learning programming framework (TensorFlow/PyTorch).Knowledge of deep learning algorithms (CNN/RNN/LSTM/RL, large-scale Sparse&Dense models for recommendation and advertising).Ability to independently solve problems, possess a strong sense of teamwork, and excellent communication skills.Strong motivation, willingness to accept challenges, and innovative thinking.
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with algorithm design in large-scale systems.Practical project experience in recommendation systems, advertising, multimodal applications, or scientific computing.

Job Information:Compensation Description (annually):
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $228000 - $529000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
