Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time, Faculty - Engineering APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking part-time lecturer positions during the 2024-2025 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching computer science, software engineering, or computer engineering courses. Candidates with extensive industry experience are encouraged to apply. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with multiple years of applicable industry experience, or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Effective communication skills required. Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS University teaching experience. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment. SPECIAL CONDITIONS The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
