About the Job:PURPOSE STATEMENT:Part-time Psychiatrist | Miramont Behavioral Health | Middleton, WisconsinThe Physician provides comprehensive care by conducting medical assessments and evaluations, prescribing medications for psychiatric and substance use disorders, and performing medication follow-ups. Responsible for the initial and continued assessment of patients and for their treatment, ensuring the existence of an up-to-date treatment plan appropriate to the patient’s psychiatric and medical condition and psychosocial background, and ensuring that treatment proceeds effectively in accordance with the treatment plan.Roles and Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides clinical services to patients at the facility within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.Reviews medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.Evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.Treats or directs treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.Reviews and completes medical information for individual care plans, documents services, and information in a timely manner.Maintains appropriate confidential documentation, compliance, and billing in accordance with policy and procedures.Performs a variety of professional assignments such as involvement in the admission of patients to the facility, covering for professional staff during vacation or absence of the regularly assigned psychiatrist, and appearing in court in connection with the involuntary commitment of a patient.Provides information, documentation, and personal insights about our patients’ progress to clinicians and other treatment professionals.Participates in on-call rotation.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.One or more years’ experience as a staff physician with the population served by the facility preferred.Why Miramont Behavioral Health?
