Full-timeJob Type (exemption status): Exempt positionSalary Range: 100,300.00-142,100.00Business Function: AccountingLocation (Secondary): Irvine Office--LOC_WDT_USCA01At Western Digital, our vision is to power global innovation and push the boundaries of technology to make what you thought was once impossible, possible.The SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting function is responsible for all external financial reporting, including SEC periodic filings, quarterly earnings releases, investor relations presentations, 401(k), and financial census reports. The role also serves as an internal consulting function to address complex transactions and issues faced by the business. This role will report to the Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, and will:Manage periodic filings with the SEC, including preparation of financial statements and related notes, MD&A, and other disclosures.Prepare financial statements and presentations for quarterly earnings releases and file related Form 8-K.Review and tie-out Proxy financial disclosures.Manage preparation of financial statements for 401(k) Plan and filing of Form 5500.Oversee accounting for the company's capital structure (debt and equity).Oversee accounting for equity compensation plans.Monitor and research new accounting standards, summarizing and communicating impacts to executives and Audit Committee, and leading process changes where necessary.Analyze and understand complex transactions, applying complex accounting standards to those transactions, developing solutions to problems, and effectively communicating the results to stakeholders.Collaborate effectively with internal clients, including General Accounting, IT, Treasury, Strategic Investments, Legal, Internal Audit, Real Estate Operations.Liaise with external auditors and company stakeholders to manage effective and efficient audit execution.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting and hold a CPA.4+ years of experience with complex accounting including SEC reporting and GAAP.Proven success managing a team of finance professionals through ambiguity while still driving results.Prior experience working in Public Accounting (Big 4) is highly preferred.Experience with Workiva is a strong plus.Confident communicator with the level of maturity and presence necessary to influence senior executives and business leaders.Thrive on driving innovation and change that will propel the business forward.Consistently practice strategic thinking and nimble problem-solving tactics to stay ahead of business priorities.Western Digital is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and employees and will not discriminate based on their race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, medical condition, marital status, physical or mental disability, or other legally protected characteristics.Western Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
