We've developed a suite of internal solutions uniquely designed to meet the challenges of a digital-first, cloud-first business at scale. Today, the Capital One Software team is exploring how these internal solutions across cloud, data, governance, and applications could serve the needs of other companies born or built in the cloud.
Capital One Software is a new enterprise B2B software business at Capital One focused on providing cloud and data management solutions for companies operating in the cloud. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.
Collaborate with product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help our application teams and customers.
Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript, Python, Go and Java, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, open source frameworks, RESTful web services, and work on cross-browser and cross-device development.
Proficiently utilize Docker and Kubernetes to deploy, orchestrate and scale containerized applications efficiently and reliably on a cloud native environment.
Perform software development on Front End Applications leveraging a test-driven development pattern.
Deploy production workloads programmatically using a variety of CI/CD tools such as GitHub or Jenkins.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for internal and external users.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.
At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
At least 2 years of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in more than one of the following: Java, Python, Go, Javascript/TypeScript, Angular/React.js, or Node.js.
2+ years of experience with Container orchestration (i.e: Docker, Kubernetes).
3+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
1+ years of experience in Agile practices.
2+ years of experience with CI/CD Open Source tools (i.e: Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab).
1+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (i.e: Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
1+ years of experience with Linux.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations.
Remote (Regardless of Location): $140,000 - $159,800 for Senior Software Engineer.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
