Job Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Management

Define, develop and implement a strategy, which contributes to the Corporate strategic direction.

Develop an understanding of each work cell business strategy as it pertains to Supply Chain Management and Commodity Management.

Provide regular updates to BUM, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management and Operations Management on execution of the strategy.

Develop a business plan for assigned commodities.

Continuously monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities, adjusting commodity strategies as necessary.

Implement robust supplier qualification and evaluation processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices.

Technical Management

Demonstrate expertise in assigned commodities and fully competent in all aspects of supply chain Management including commodities not directly assigned.

Develop a Global Commodity infrastructure that supports organization’s business and growth plans.

Develop, monitor, and implement Global Commodity Strategies

Develop the supply base to exceed the goals and objectives of SMARTT and the supply chain management team.

Market SMARTT’s Supply Chain Management expertise both internally and externally

Define, develop and implement supply chain models to meet organization’s business needs.

Analyse market conditions and implement supply chain strategies to assure supply and price competitiveness.

Be a leader in ensuring that SMARTT maximizes our purchase leverage for the best total cost of ownership.

Influence organization’s current and potential new customers.

Develop effective relationships with Business Unit Management to ensure that Supply Chain Management is fully involved with new business opportunities.

Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.

Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.

Offer new, innovative, and entrepreneurial ideas and suggestions for improvement.

Identify and implement new practices and processes that are “best in field.”

Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.

Establish new measurement systems if/where appropriate.

Ensure the efficient and timely exchange of knowledge and information within the SMARTT Corporation to ensure best practices are shared throughout the SMARTT organization.

Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality).

Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately.

Communication & Relationship Management

Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and contracts for critical commodities and other semiconductor manufacturing materials.

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align commodity management initiatives with production schedules, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

Drive supplier relationship management efforts to foster strategic partnerships, mitigate supply chain disruptions, and drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery performance.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and industry associations, to stay informed about emerging technologies, market dynamics, and best practices in commodity management.

Lead and mentor a team of commodity specialists, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to drive individual and collective success.

Cost Management

Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies aligned with company objectives, ensuring a secure and cost-effective supply chain.

Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).

Define, develop and make effective use of cost analysis tools.

Provide feedback to peers on cost and cost trends.

Forecast Development and Accuracy

Prepare timely forecasts for the function.

Compare forward forecast results to historical actual results for trend assessment and analysis.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years related experience in global commodity management, materials management, negotiation, cost reduction activities, materials planning, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within the semiconductor or related high-tech manufacturing industry.

Proven track record of successfully managing critical commodities, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, materials, and market dynamics.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.

Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.

Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.

Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

Proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP/SAP systems, and data analysis tools.
