Data Engineer I

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines and systems. Working closely with the data engineering team, you will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or other storage solutions. Primary focus will be on supporting the organization's data infrastructure and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of data processes.

What You'll DoCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design effective ETL processesDevelop and maintain ETL workflows to integrate data from diverse sources into centralized repositoriesImplement data transformations and cleansing procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of dataOptimize data processing tasks for performance and efficiencyWork with data warehousing technologies to design and maintain data storage solutionsEnsure data warehouses are organized, well-architected, and scalableImplement data quality checks and validation procedures to identify and address anomalies or inconsistencies in the dataCollaborate with data analysts to understand and address data quality issuesWrite and maintain code (SQL, Python, Scala etc.) for ETL processes and data manipulationCollaborate with the development team to integrate data engineering solutions with overall system architectureDocument ETL processes, data models, and system architecture for future reference and knowledge sharingMonitor data pipelines for performance issues and troubleshoot problems as they ariseCollaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure the availability and reliability of data systemsStay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineeringParticipate in training programs and seek opportunities for professional development

Who You AreBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experienceBasic understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing conceptsProficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., SQL, Python, Scala)Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworksStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsExperience with SQL, Python, Knowledge on Data Warehouse concepts

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $86,000.00 to $120,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $137,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
