With the sheer scale of Walmart’s environment comes the biggest of big data sets.As a Walmart Principal Software Engineer, you will dig into our mammoth scale of data to help unleash the power of retail data science by imagining, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that our Data Scientists and Analysts can rely on. You will be responsible for contributing to an orchestration layer of complex data transformations, refining raw data from source into targeted, valuable data assets for consumption in a governed way. You will partner with Data Scientists, Analysts, other engineers and business stakeholders to solve complex and exciting challenges so that we can build out capabilities that evolve the retail business model while making a positive impact on our customers’ lives.About the Team:Data Ventures exists to unlock the full value of Walmart’s data by developing and productizing B2B data initiatives that empower merchants and suppliers to make better, faster decisions for the business. As part of this transformation, we’re seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help drive data productization from concept to deployment.What You’ll Do:Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, conducting unit testing, and communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.Collaborating with project team and cross-functional teams. Troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interacting with project manager to provide input on project plan.Leads the work of other small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples. Identifying short- and long-term solutions, providing feedback for proposed solutions. Performing design and code reviews of changes.Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause), engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulating an action plan, performing actions as designated in the plan. Interpreting the results to determine further action, performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues and completing online documentation.Provides support to the business by responding to user's questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies). Facilitating resolutions and leading cross-functional partnership.Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high-level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business and user experience teams and obtaining cross-function approvals.Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others. Supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer, business needs and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. Identifying business needs, determining, and carrying out necessary processes and practices. Monitoring progress and results and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.Model’s compliance with company policies, procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans.Create software design and architecture for next software solution. This will be your channel to communicate your ideas with the rest of the team. Not just one but evaluate multiple solutions.Analyze competing requirements and articulate tradeoffs and lead discussions with business and development team, leading whiteboard sessions with team.Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs. Developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance. Demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.Creates training documentation. Oversees the tasks of less experienced programmers and stipulates system troubleshooting supports.Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives. Consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or key stakeholders. Soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness and participating in and supporting community outreach events.What You’ll Bring:At least 12 years of experience in Software Application Development.At least 8 years of experience in

ReactJs, JavaScript.Architected

design systems.Experienced in computing platforms such as

GCP or Azure.Experience building and deploying APIs and applications.Experience in

micro front-end architecture.Experience with

Redux, Charting.Experience with

DS and Algorithm basics.Knowledge of

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
