Brentwood School, a vibrant and diverse K-12 independent school, is looking for a part-time VCRE Fitness Facilitator and Coach beginning summer 2024.The VCRE Fitness Facilitator and Coach offers support, in the form of general supervision as well as strength and conditioning advice, to Veterans using the Fitness Center and other resources available through the VCRE. Veterans interacting with the VCRE Fitness Facilitator and Coach will acquire strategies to improve general fitness, reduce athletic injuries, and inspire lifelong fitness and movement skills. The VCRE Fitness Facilitator and Coach is responsible for maintaining the fitness center, and for establishing and enforcing policies and practices for the safe and professional operation of its equipment.Reporting to the Assistant Head of School, this is a part-time hourly position that can include evening and weekend hours.Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Assist Veterans in designing fitness programs that revolve around strength conditioning and weight training geared toward their personal needs, while minimizing potential injury.Assess individual fitness level, strengths and weaknesses, and design programs accordingly.Manage and supervise current health protocols.Maintain accurate and updated records for Veterans with individual workout plans to help them track their progress.Work with VCRE Coordinator to create opportunities for clinics, tournaments, and other special recreational/athletic opportunities and events.Facilitate a collaborative relationship among Veterans using the facilities and assist with conflict resolution as needed.Monitor the space, keep it clean, and ensure BWS employees and/or students utilize the facilities only during BWS access hours and vice versa.Occasional activities and projects on VA campus as needed/requested.Engage in professional and personal development and commit to growth in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.Participate in and initiate opportunities that demonstrate one's growth, knowledge, and skills.Other duties as assigned.Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Work surfaces may vary from concrete to grass to hardwood floors. Job responsibilities require both inside and outside assignments. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. Shift hours can include evenings and weekends.Physical Requirements:

Ability to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by VCRE participants.Ability to visually monitor participants. Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving equipment/boxes up to 50 lbs.Must know how to operate strength training and sports aid equipment.Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications.Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.While being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommended.Compensation:Brentwood School's employment requirements vary, from positions requiring no experience to those needing 20+ years of expert experience. Our salary range includes all levels of experience, from $28 – 32 per hour. Salaries are determined based on years of experience, education, full- or part-time status, the category of the role, and the number of months worked per school year. The pay range is an estimate and is not guaranteed.
