ADS Center Director

Working Schedule:
Hours, times, and days are contingent upon clients, work duties, and center location. Schedule may include weekends and may change as business needs dictate.
Position Summary: The Center Director is responsible for the overall administration of the Adult Day Service program including, but not limited to the oversight of finances, therapeutic activity programming, care planning, quality assurance, staffing, training, program admissions, as well as marketing and community relations.
Essential Functions:
Develop and implement program policies, goals, and objectives.
Maintain compliance with oversight agencies such as Maryland Department of Health Medical Day Care regulations, Department on Aging’s Senior Center Plus regulations, and Medicaid regulations ensuring minimal citations with each inspection.
Hire and supervise appropriate staff, students, and volunteers.
Arrange for orientation and ongoing in-service training of staff, students, and volunteers.
Develop procedures to maintain fee schedules, billing procedures, and medical records systems.
Develop and manage annual program budget.
Develop, implement, and manage the daily program.
Oversee and manage all billing and accounts receivables.
Develop and maintain linkages with the central Easterseals office plus other community agencies and organizations that could give support to the program or to individual participants.
Oversee the development and implementation of a quality assurance system for evaluating program effectiveness and the effectiveness of individual health care plans and interventions.
Direct the coordination of transportation services.
Market program to meet program participation goals.
Identify gaps in services impacting clients and determine programmatic changes as needed.
Identify, assess, and when appropriate, implement potential growth areas for the program.
Advise VP, Adult and Senior Services on appropriate public/private funding for any direct client services. If recommended, assist in obtaining certification for billing purposes to these sources.
Complete weekly and monthly reports on the status of the center’s census, financial goals, marketing goals, admissions, referrals, discharges, and staff in-service training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education/Experience:
Bachelor degree required.
Three or more years of experience in management position in related field with strong leadership skills.
Three or more years of experience with seniors and/or adults with functional impairments in a health care setting.
Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with participants, families, care providers, colleagues, community referral sources, and the general community.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve. Accountable for own decisions.
Internal Relationships and Language:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to understand budgets and financial reports.
Provide leadership to all Center Employees as well as adhere to and enforce all Center policies and procedures.
Report issues, successes, and concerns promptly to VP, Adult and Senior Services.
Aware of confidentiality of client information.
Computer Skills: Must be comfortable using the computer, internet and email.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changes in computer technology.
Ability to train staff in use of available technology.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Delegate effectively to employees under his/her supervision.
Follow procedures for hiring and terminating employees as outlined in Easterseals Employee Handbook.
Provide performance evaluations at least once a year as well as provide ongoing feedback and disciplinary action (as needed) on all employees under his/her supervision.
Lead center’s management team (Activities Director, Health and Safety Manager/R.N., and Administrative Assistant).
Supervise the Activities Director in his/her role as supervisor of direct care staff.
Supervise use of contractual professional staff.
Supervise team of part-time drivers in the provision of center transportation services.
Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
Able to maneuver various pathways for entry / exit into locations.
Able to lift, carry and move a variety of items such as supplies, equipment, therapy equipment and supplies, approximately 50 lbs or less.
Able to assist participants in and out of the vehicles.

Walking 30 %
Running 0 %
Stooping/Kneeling 10 %

Working Hours: Normal, usually daytime
