North Country HealthCare, Flagstaff, Arizona, United States, 86004

Where Career Fulfillment and Work-Life Integration Meet Outdoor Adventure in The Natural Wonder of Northern ArizonaThis full-time family nurse practitioner position will work part of the time in North Country's brick-and-mortar clinic and part of the time from a medical van at our various specialty clinic locations throughout Flagstaff including The Guidance Center (a mental health facility), Summit High School, and area homeless shelters. Work in the Specialty Clinics will begin after at least 6 months of training and out-patient practice in our brick-and-mortar clinic. In both places, you will have the chance to work with people in great need of primary care and, in doing so, significantly support them in bettering their overall lives. What you will be doing:

Diagnosing and treating acute (sometimes chronic) conditions of all aged patients, administering vaccinations, and performing follow-up exams. These patients will include those from homeless and student populations, but not exclusively.Preventive care including educating patients and their parents in disease prevention and health maintenance.Making referrals and coordinating patient care with staff and other providers.Preparing of medical records, clinical reports, and correspondences.Supervising medical professionals (nurses, physician assistants, and medical assistants).Demonstrating continuous learning and eagerness for professional development.NCHC is proud to be a teaching health center and physicians can expect to be involved with the teaching of students and residents. What you won't be doing:

Feeling isolated -- an integrated care model reduces physician burn-out because it offers wrap-around services and programs beyond the exam room to care for your patients.Paying for malpractice insurance or tail coverage -- as an FQHC, physicians are covered by the Federal Tort Claim Act.Wondering if your job is meaningful -- you will see the positive impact you have on patients and the community regularly.Required qualifications:

Two full years of experience working as a family nurse practitioner in a primary care setting including experience with vulnerable and/or medically under-served populations.Contact Us!
