www.sfdph.org .DPH Statement of Diversity, Equity and InclusionThe Department of Public Health prioritizes equitable and inclusive access to quality healthcare for its community and values the diversity of its workforce.Under direction, the Radiologic Technologist Lead functions as a lead Radiologic Technologist of a shift or an assigned area of diagnostic imaging. Examples of Important and Essential Duties:Functions as lead worker in an assigned area or for a shift; manages workload relative to available resources; prioritizes work and assigns tasks to Diagnostic Imaging Technologists and support staff.Acts as preceptor to new staff; trains, orients and documents initial and annual competencies of staff.Performs general diagnostic procedures using various diagnostic equipment; lifts and carries cassettes to and from imaging equipment; positions patients and selects technical factors.Applies principles of radiation safety in compliance with standards; uses appropriate filters and protective clothing to obtain high-quality images.Assesses general patient condition, including stability, pain and safety; monitors medical equipment and promptly reports problems.Documents procedures and events in the patient's medical record and departmental logs.Transports patients using gurneys, wheelchairs and beds.Schedules procedures and patients; assists patients and other customers.Performs venipuncture and CPR; assists physicians in preparing and administering contrast media.Trains student technologists in diagnostic imaging.Participates in departmental Quality Improvement efforts.Cleans imaging equipment and procedure rooms.Maintains patient medical records and data integrity using Radiology and hospital IT systems.Assists physicians in resolving imaging questions or issues.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required):Experience:Four (4) years of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist; ANDLicense & Certification:Possession of a current license issued by the State of California as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT);

ANDCurrent registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT);

ANDARRT certification in at least one advanced modality (e.g., Mammography, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging);

ANDPossession of a valid permit in Fluoroscopy equipment issued by California Department of Health Services;

ANDCertification in Possession of a valid Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate issued by the American Heart Association.Substitution:
