Join the fight to end homelessness and make a difference in people’s lives at LA Family Housing!THE POSITION:The Associate Director of Interim Housing is responsible for the program oversight of LA Family Housing (LAFH) Interim Housing programs and for direct supervision, development, and support of program managers. Duties include but are not limited to staffing oversight and executing the Director’s vision for staff development, increased staff morale and retention. The Associate Director will conduct program assessments, analyze program gaps, and implement clinical service models in partnership with the Director to ensure service delivery is effective, efficient and utilizes best practice models. This role will ensure operational standards of care across multiple sites and will be charged with contract oversight including ensuring compliance and all reporting and billing responsibilities. This position will focus on internal program and staff capacity building and implementation of best practices and models to meet the standard of care set forth by the Director, Deputy Chief Program Officer and Chief Program Officer.WHAT YOU’LL DO:Implement best practices and standards for Interim Housing programsSupervise and develop direct reports, addressing HR concernsEnsure compliance with program standards, enhancing policies and proceduresManage program budgets, expenses, and financial stabilityOversee program occupancy and utilization across multiple sitesCoordinate service delivery, incident response, and program infrastructureEvaluate program performance, identify staff and program needsConduct contract outcome assessments, service delivery reviews, and quality assuranceCollaborate with Asset Management and FMO for facility maintenance and complianceProvide technical assistance to housing partners and sub-contractorsAddress staff retention and satisfaction, implement development initiativesServe as a point of contact with funders and lead audit preparationsCoordinate with Community Engagement Programs for volunteer and donation resourcesRespond to after-hours crisis calls and manage incidents as neededAnalyze incident reports, develop tools to reduce incidentsOffer crisis intervention and de-escalation supportAttend relevant meetings and generate necessary reportsAdditional tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorWHAT YOU’RE SKILLED AT:Strong communication skills (written and oral)Proficient in staff supervisionIn-depth knowledge of HR policiesSkilled in public speaking and team facilitationExpertise in program evaluation and implementation for support servicesFamiliarity with community-based organizations and homeless resourcesComprehensive understanding of homelessness and related issues (e.g., poverty, housing, CES)Advanced clinical knowledge, including crisis intervention, safety assessments, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and housing first principlesExpertise in recognizing mental health symptoms, substance use disorders, and trauma-related behaviorsResourceful problem-solving abilitiesStrong teamwork and independent work capabilitiesBilingual proficiency in Spanish/English (preferred but not mandatory)Proficient in contract and fiscal managementWHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED:Master’s in Social Work (MSW) or Masters in Family Therapy (MFT) (preferred)Minimum of three (3) years of social service experienceMinimum of two (2) years’ experience in program supervision; knowledge of homeless populations and services, government assistance programs, employment, housing placement, mental health, recovery services, case management procedures, grant writing, public and private funding, contract and fiscal management.WHAT WE OFFER:Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 403B Retirement Plan, 529 Education Savings Plan, Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Legal Access Plan, Employee Appreciation Program, Company Sponsored Employee Events, Staff Development, 9/80 Alternative Work Schedule, Paid Sick, Vacation and 13 Observed Holidays, Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program Eligibility and more!PHYSICAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS, EQUIPMENT:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
