You will serve as senior resource for labor relationsand contract interpretation. In this role, you will actively participate inlocal and system-wide bargaining, including drafting/reviewing/modifyingproposals, soliciting feedback from stakeholders and clients on proposedchanges; communicate changes to managers and supervisors and serve as a primaryresource in change implementation.As our Labor Relations Manager, you willcoordinate and direct grievance process to ensure compliance with contractprovisions and consistency in raising procedural issues, provide guidance andassistance to managers and supervisors regarding interpretation, compliance andenforcement of collective bargaining agreements and HEERA provisions andprovide guidance to management on grievance and arbitration procedures; makerecommendations regarding the resolution of grievances when appropriate. Youwill assist in the readiness for arbitration, including documentation andwitness preparation. You will coordinate timely/accurate responses toinformation requests; organize and lead meetings between managers and employeeorganizations and assist management during labor activity. You will facilitateon-going communication and working relationships with employee organizationrepresentatives and coordinate and facilitate local Labor Management Meetings. Youwill also routinely liaise with union representatives and endeavor to resolveissues/concerns at the lowest level possible.Annual salary range: $112,900.00 - $256,900.00Qualifications

7+ years of progressive experience in employment related matters and unionized environmentsAdvanced knowledge of public sector laws/requirements; healthcare industry, higher education preferredAdvanced knowledge of labor/employment law and the principles and techniques of labor negotiations.Ability to analyze and draft proposals for negotiations, settlements, other employment agreementsAdvanced analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.Skill in writing concise, clear, relevant and persuasive documents, including correspondence, case analyses, settlement agreements.Demonstrated presentation skills, i.e., grievance meetings, trainings, panels.Advanced knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas in Human Resources and the organization.Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with other UCLA offices, the UC Office of the President and other UC campuses.Demonstrated ability to handle extremely difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.MS Office Suite proficiency (MS Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc).Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
