Our solid foundation of enduring client relationships, financial stability, market leadership, effective risk management, and strategic presence in key regions ensures our ability to execute this crucial mission.ResponsibilitiesReads and interprets drawings, specifications, and Requests-for-Proposals and contracts.Develops detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials.Prepares bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of subcontractor bids.Assists in the preparation of larger and more complex estimating assignments including the Estimate Plan.Works with the Company estimating systems and processes.Develops proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes.Knowledgeable of the Hard Dollar estimating system would be helpful.Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.Recognizes how various processes/project actions and assumptions may impact the estimate and quantifies the impact.Performs duties with some complexity under general supervision.Applies estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles.May provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel.Prepares scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.Prepares subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications:Previous heavy civil construction experience.Experience in the Water Industry.Experience with bidding software.Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.Highly organized with excellent time management skills.Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.Additional Information:Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. The salary range for this position is between $145,000.00 - $195,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical - including a NO-COST option, dental, and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in a Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account.
