Lead, direct and enforce safety on multiple construction projects, based on the safety staffing requirements as defined by the Safety DirectorIdentify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices, training and disciplinary techniques

Partnering with Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents and ForemanMentoring and coaching onsite crewFostering and building relationships to ensure safety compliance with owners, design partners, subcontractors and suppliersQualifications:Required:Four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management or Engineering or related degreeMinimum 7 years dedicated solely to building construction safetyMinimum 5 years of construction safety process management experienceMinimum 3 years of actual field experience in safetyOSHA 500 or OSHA 502 trainingFirst Aid/CPR/BBP and AED training, current to within 2 yearsDue to healthcare requirements on projects, Covid vaccination/booster required, or willing to obtain prior to employmentKnowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniquesAchievement of ASP or CSP is required within 2 years of appointment to this positionDemonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actionsProfessional management, leadership and interpersonal abilitiesGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programsPreferred:Bilingual with the ability to communicate in both Spanish and EnglishMinimum of 4 hours documented education and exemplify practical knowledge and working experience in the following areas:

Primarily works out of the project jobsite in Wichita Falls, TX. Must be willing to travel to various project jobsites as needed.Travel:

In addition to project jobsite and regional meetings, overnight travel may be involved.Responsibilities and Tasks:McGough Safety Team:Perform all functions and responsibilities in partnership with McGough's culture, corporate vision, ethics and code of conductBuild positive working relationships with Safety Team, McGough project and jobsite staff and subcontractor safety representativesContribute to the development and enhancement of the overall project safety programManage time and resource allocation appropriately to provide overall safety leadership to assigned project(s)Strive for continued growth of professional knowledge and skills to contribute to the team dynamicProvide coverage as needed when other team members are absentSafety Oversight:Enforce safety program and related policies and procedures and implement immediate corrective actions in accordance with McGough, federal, state and local regulations and owner requirementsAid project management personnel to ensure compliance with all safety, accident and fire programs, procedures and policiesStop any unsafe practices, train on correct behavior, and recommend suitable disciplinary actionAt the start of each project, hold pre-construction planning meeting with McGough jobsite staff and subcontractors to review overall site safety program and job hazard analysis for their scope of work, and ensure plans are in place to mitigate risksProvide technical and administrative direction to on-site safety personnelInvolvement in OSHA inspections and related follow-upResearch safety topicsJobsite Safety & Training:Conduct weekly jobsite walk throughs/audits with Superintendent/Foremen to identify hazards and train safe behaviorConduct bi-weekly site wide safety meetings focusing on timely and relevant activities to the jobsiteTrain employees utilizing company provided safety and hazard awareness training programsRecognize hazardous situations and implement corrective proceduresThoroughly investigate all incidents and accidentsTracking & Administrative:Evaluate training needs and make recommendations to Safety Team, jobsite leadership, and/or to subcontractorsPerform jobsite inspections and prepare reports (Power Point/Excel) to submit to the Safety DirectorReview all safety documentation/reports for accuracy and completenessTrack and identify trendsMaintain job site specific safety administrative files and recordsAdditional:Ability to pass customer required background and security screeningsHold a valid driver’s license with a clear recordAssume additional assignments/tasks as neededPhysical Requirements:The physical requirements listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. In addition, employee must be able to move around prospective or current project sites.
