As the Product Manager for PowerTrack APM PV Performance, you will join Stem’s product management team and be responsible for driving the strategy and development of Stem’s cutting-edge operations management software solutions for solar, battery energy storage, and hybrid solar+storage systems. This role will directly contribute to the strategy and execution of Stem’s PowerTrack APM product roadmap. You will:Own and extend the software product capabilities, both customer-facing and internal to Stem, related to (1) PV performance modeling (2) PV performance analytics (3) VEE of operational time-series data (4) advanced technical analytics using AI and data-science-driven methodologies.Work with various functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop product requirements and roadmaps, collaborate with the Stem software development team on prioritization and product delivery, and support other teams on go-to-market strategy and sales enablement.Responsibilities:

Collaborate with stakeholders to act as primary contributor to the product roadmap for product and feature delivery, internally developed or via partnerships, related to PowerTrack APM’s technical PV performance product areas including the PowerTrack APM PV monitoring, diagnostic tools, performance loss categorizations, VEE, PV advanced analytics, PV expected production modeling, PV forecasting, and custom KPIs calculations.Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the energy industry, particularly around PV performance engineering, PV modeling best-practices, PV model accuracy, PV forecasting, and operational analytics tools.Work closely with the Stem data science and software development teams to assess and address technical risks and delivery risks to ensure timely delivery and a high standard of excellence for products and features.Participate in agile processes and ceremonies within the software development team, and follow high standards for automation, quality and transparency/observability.Own and prioritize technical product backlog in development of PowerTrack APM software offerings, supporting products that delight our customers and enable more efficient operation of clean energy assets.Collaborate with peers working on other areas of PowerTrack APM to ensure alignment, compatibility and a cohesive user experience.Work with solution managers and division leaders to develop strategies, pricing, and cost models for your specific product.Work with product marketing to develop customer-facing collateral to project Stem’s leadership and differentiation in solutions geared towards the operation of solar, storage, and hybrid energy assets.Conduct competitive market assessments and capability assessments regularly.Explore partnerships and procurement options to complement internal development activities for high impact, build vs. partner vs. buy decisions.Provide internal training and present to customers on Stem’s unique monitoring and managing software solutions.Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities and assist other teams in responding to RFIs (Request for Information).Analyze key performance indicators, report on these indicators at a regular cadence to the Manager of Product Management, Asset Performance Management.Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance to enable high-velocity and high-quality feature delivery.Facilitate the creation and maintenance of high-quality product documentation.Foster a strong technical culture characterized by high-quality implementations, effective organizational communication, decisiveness and speed, constructive conflict resolution, and a can-do mentality.Establish effective and collaborative cross-functional working relationships with peers, developers, and operations teams.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:

3+ years’ experience in a performance engineering or technical asset management role optimizing operational performance of renewable energy assets, especially battery energy storage systems (BESS) and utility-scale PV systems.8+ years’ experience working as a product manager or collaborating with software development teams especially in workflow-driven, data-intensive applications.Electric power industry domain experience with demonstrated understanding of renewable energy asset performance modeling, benchmarking, and optimization during operations.Familiarity with PVsyst, PVlib, SolarFarmer, ASTM 2848, and/or other PV performance models.Familiarity with weather-resource assessment, performance loss models to identify soiling and shading, and performance benchmarks such as capacity testing, KPIs, and availability calculations.Prior work with cross-functional product development teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, and operations. Experience working in an Agile engineering organization.Experience defining business models and go-to-market strategies.Experience participating in and leading commercial discussions with customers’ leadership teams.Extraordinary communication skills, and able to present complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.Experience in full life cycle agile engineering practices ranging from concept, design, development, and QA to continuous release and maintenance.Empathy: You are driven to uncover customer needs and pain points and channel those insights into user-centric product development.Intellectually curious: You’re interested in understanding and experimenting with new cutting-edge technologies.
