The company is consistently growing and acquiring new businesses, which has created an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Accountant within their tax department.OverviewThis role involves preparing schedules for tax provisions, quarterly estimated tax payments, and corporate income/franchise tax filings. The Senior Tax Accountant will also assist with sales and use tax and property tax filings, manage corporate income tax matters, and ensure compliance with income tax return processes. Additionally, this role includes researching tax issues, analyzing tax laws, and documenting conclusions. The Senior Tax Accountant will lead and supervise projects within the tax department, reporting directly to the Tax Manager.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare provisions for federal and state taxes, rate reconciliations, and reserves for uncertain tax positions.Assist in the calculation and preparation of quarterly corporate income tax estimated payments and extensions.Create schedules for federal, state, and local income tax filings.Prepare property tax returns, sales and use tax returns, annual reports, and other required filings.Provide support during tax audits.Manage fixed asset depreciation calculations for tax purposes.Stay updated on tax law developments and their impact on the company.Assist Tax Managers and the Director of Tax with special projects as needed.Support accounting and finance responsibilities when necessary.Maintain regular and predictable attendance.Perform essential functions at a designated office or field location.Adhere to the company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional standards.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Tax Accountant.Strong background in U.S. corporate tax compliance, GAAP, and related U.S. accounting standards.Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; a Master’s in Business Taxation (MBT) is preferred.CPA license strongly preferred.Skills and AbilitiesProficient in Microsoft Excel.In-depth knowledge of tax reporting and compliance concepts and principles.Excellent understanding of local, state, and federal tax codes.Self-motivated with a positive attitude, capable of working both independently and in a team.Advanced analytical and decision-making skills.
