Neighborhood Cooperative is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director to support our dynamic team. As an integral part of our leadership, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our students in a nurturing and innovative learning environment.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Director to ensure the effective operation and management of the preschool.Support and mentor teaching staff to maintain high-quality educational standards.Foster positive relationships with parents, caregivers, and the local community.Assist in the development and implementation of engaging curriculum and activities.Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.EEC certification or working towards certification.Proven experience in a leadership or administrative role within a preschool setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Knowledge of current early childhood education practices and regulations.Passion for fostering a creative and inclusive learning environment.Salary & Benefits

The Neighborhood Cooperative Nursery School is a Reggio-Inspired Parent Cooperative Preschool founded in 1969. Our curriculum is play-based and often emerges from the interests and skill level of the children. We support the development of the whole child, built on a foundation of social and emotional skills.Our facility includes five large indoor classrooms, a large indoor gross motor space, as well as several beautiful outdoor classroom spaces. We are a community of educators and families who are dedicated to providing a positive, joyful, and enriching first school experience for all of our students. We believe that young children are highly capable and our educators work to plan for daily hands-on play-based experiences within our inviting and engaging classroom spaces. There is also a focus on nature-based learning and we strive to spend time in our outdoor classrooms each day.We strive to make environmentally-conscious choices in and outside the classroom. To protect students with allergies, we do not allow nuts.We offer classes for children ages 2.9 to 5+ years and cap our classes at 10 children. In addition, the Neighborhood Cooperative offers “Grow with Me,” a program for children ages 24 – 36 months with a parent or caregiver.At the Neighborhood Cooperative, we continually evaluate our programs and adapt to the needs of our community.
