An exceptional opportunity awaits an educator passionate about teaching, mentoring, and fostering student success at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). Working with a strong research foundation at ETSU, the Assistant Professor of Computing – Information Systems will help shape and build an innovative, nationally recognized Computer Science research program in the Department of Computing.The ideal candidate has a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline and is adept at teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in enterprise information systems. Equally important is a passion and drive to promote student success by guiding them in research, sharing knowledge, and making meaningful connections. Successful candidates will also engage in service activities in the department, university, and community. Opportunities for collaboration exist across the University in the Academic Health Science Center, Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, and Business.This is a nine-month position (mid-August through mid-May), with faculty teaching three courses each semester and having an active research and service agenda. Opportunities to conduct independent studies and supervise undergraduate and graduate research and thesis activities are available. Faculty regularly teach Special Topics courses in areas of personal interest. Summer teaching opportunities for additional compensation may be available.Primary Areas of Teaching Emphasis

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline earned by August 15, 2024. (Candidates from D.B.A. or Ed.D. programs may be considered if the doctoral program’s emphasis was in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related discipline.)Additionally, all candidates must be able to:demonstrate good written and oral English skillslegally work in the United Statesbegin work August 2024Preferred Qualifications
