Position Description
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites highly motivated applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position (Level 0) in the Wang lab. The overall goal of this project is to investigate and develop biomaterials for drug delivery to the central nervous system (CNS).The ideal applicant should have experience in the following areas:Protein expression, purification, and functionalizationNanomaterials synthesis and characterizationFormulation of small molecule drugs and biotherapeuticsIn vitro cellular assays to evaluate drug and nanoparticle transport to cellsIn vivo drug biodistribution, with an emphasis on tissues in the CNSGood organization, communication, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential. At the time of hire, candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or other relevant field.
