will be a key member of the BioNTech global legal team and will be integral to the successful launch of BioNTech’s anticipated first oncology product in the United States and subsequent products. This role will support multiple business partners, including commercial, medical affairs, health economics & value assessment (HEVA), patient interactions and other cross-functional teams to provide guidance and counsel on matters related to commercialization, promotional and educational activities, medical affairs activities, engagements with healthcare providers and entities, and other aspects of commercial law and compliance in the biopharmaceutical industry.This position will ideally be based in New Jersey, where our commercial organization will be based. There will be an expectation for regular contact and travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where our US headquarters and primary US R&D organization is based. However, the role could be based in our Cambridge office provided that there is regular contact and travel to New Jersey.This role is primarily US focused but may also involve providing support for other markets globally and/or undertaking the role of a “Global Product Attorney.”Provide legal advice and counselling on a broad set of healthcare, commercial and general corporate topics in support of preparations for potential future commercial product launches, including but not limited to pre-approval activities, marketing strategies, promotional tactics and materials, advertising campaigns and programs, disease awareness activities, collaborating with/supporting patient advocacy groups, healthcare professional (HCP) engagements, advisory boards and interactions with others in a position to influence healthcare decisions (e.g., payers, distributors, etc.).Develop/support the development of processes and policies related to the above and provide trainings to key internal clients.Understand the strategic and tactical objectives of the relevant commercial, medical, HEVA, and other client teams and develop creative and thoughtful solutions to key initiatives, activities and communications, taking into account applicable current legal and regulatory landscapes.Serve as the primary legal support and contact for the Global Medical Affairs teams for commercialization activities.Serve as a legal representative on cross-functional Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review teams to provide legal feedback and direction on advertising, promotional, educational, disease awareness, medical, corporate communications, and other materials submitted for review.Draft, negotiate, review, and revise commercial, medical affairs, HEVA and market access and vendor agreements associated with, for example, healthcare professionals, providers, vendors, licensors, and consultants.Minimum requirements:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with a minimum 15 years prior legal experience, with 12 plus years life science/pharmaceutical experience (active membership and in good standing in a state bar).Previous US launch experience.High degree of personal ethics, integrity and accountability.Candidates must have demonstrated experience to navigate a complex and evolving organization and be able to develop policies for the organization.Preferred Requirements:
