Senior Surveyor

in our

Nashua, NH or Burlington, MA

office. As a

Senior Surveyor , you will provide leadership in the daily operations of survey activities including construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys.Some key duties and responsibilities include:Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys;Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports;Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software;Maintain and verify accuracy of project survey data and manage company standards survey database;Review survey production and final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control;Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects;Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment;Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed;Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets and mentor and assist in training junior staff members;Observe safety and security procedures.Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles, and practices;Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents;Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies;Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes, and problem-solving techniques;Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems;Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software;Proven people management and leadership capabilities;Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG;Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.Education and experience requirements are:Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required;8 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred;Land Surveyor (LS) License required;This position is not eligible for sponsorship.So, what are you waiting for?
