ASSISTANT PRODUCT DEVELOPER | JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

At Magnolia, the Assistant Product Developer works closely with the product development and design teams to deliver custom Magnolia products. This position assists with the administration needs for the in-house product development team and must be highly motivated, proactive, and a great multi-tasker. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Senior Manager of Sourcing and Product Development and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and track samples for in-house product development, monitoring each sample from a vendor to Magnolia headquarters, informing PD team of any changes for sample progress or delivery*Work with vendors to gather and compile product information across all categories and input this information into spreadsheets in timely manner*Review samples and prepare team comments for factoriesReview, photograph, and document pre-production samples to ensure all product information is accurate for production*Manage the transfer of new product samples to sample room and for photographyManage all material references shipped to vendors and maintain finish and material libraryAssist in the building and maintenance of vendor relationships to accomplish goalsLearn development and manufacturing processes, factory capabilities, and develop a deep understanding of our Magnolia product aesthetic*Participate in weekly team meetings, product reviews, and finalization meetings per season as neededMeet all deadlines, adhering to the calendarPerform other duties as assigned*Metrics evaluated on Performance Review

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university preferred0-2 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
