Technical Manager - Green Stormwater Infrastructure

We bring experiences to the forefront of everything we do and to do that takes special people.Position PurposeWithin the Charlotte Metro, provide technical expertise to take a lead role in the delivery and implementation of projects that include complex design challenges. Work closely with Project Managers and Designers to ensure the production of high-quality deliverables. Provide coaching and mentorship to Engineers and Designers across the GSI and greater Water Resources Team. Technical Managers will coordinate with a larger multidisciplinary project team to deliver a variety of projects for both public and private clients. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Provide technical stormwater leadership to all types of projects within the GSI group and broader company.Be on the forefront of an evolving green design market; developing innovative environmental protection strategies.Work with project managers to oversee the production and delivery of projects through coaching and training of engineers, designers, and CAD Techs.Work on stormwater designs, retrofits, construction drawings, and watershed planning studies.Work with a number of client types including residential and commercial development, campuses, multimodal transportation, greenways, and parks.Interact with reviewers and other permitting entities to advance technical project components.Design and produce civil engineering documents (site plans, construction drawings, design reports, specifications).Collaborate daily with Planners and Landscape Architects to enhance stormwater designs and integrate stormwater into site architecture which reduces flooding and/or improves water quality.Field work and site visits from study or design through construction.QualificationsFour-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.5+ years of design experience in water resources, civil engineering or GSI.Experience with hydrograph routing and H+H modeling.Experience with AutoCAD.Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Self-starter with strong drive to better oneself, project team, and community.Registered PE in North Carolina or Texas, or the ability and desire to be licensed within 4 months.PreferencesExperience with SCM design and modeling.Understanding of common stormwater regulations and permitting requirements.Exposure to ArcGIS Pro or other GIS Software.McAdams is an equal opportunity employer.
