We work to make the region a great place to live, work, and thrive.What will I be doing?Supporting the Chief Outreach and Government Affairs Officer with the development and implementation of programs, projects, and services to address regional priorities and strengthen organizational resources. These projects include Broadband, Housing, Healthcare, and other activities that may fall outside of H-GAC’s current offerings.Identifying and securing grant funding aimed at addressing unmet regional needs, particularly related to Broadband, Housing, Healthcare, and other agency priorities.Researching examples of successful implementation projects related to Broadband, Housing, and Healthcare for potential pilot projects in the H-GAC region.Exploring the needs of local member governments and assisting with execution of events and meetings designed to further the implementation of Broadband, Housing, Healthcare, and other agency initiatives.Supporting the Outreach and Government Affairs department with additional needs in advancement of H-GAC programs and services.Key QualificationsExcellent ability to prioritize, pivot, and adapt when meeting multiple, sometimes conflicting deadlines.Strong communication skills with the ability to work internally with different agency departments and externally with elected officials and other stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and negotiation skills.Strong understanding of the functions and responsibilities of the council of governments, counties, municipalities, school districts, and other special districts in the region.Ability to develop and deploy innovative projects.Exceptional customer service and business acumen.Do you have…Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study.5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or in job-related duties.Preferred QualificationsDegree in business administration, political science, organizational management, or other applicable field of study.Five (5) years of experience working with local governments, nonprofit programs, schools, or other role-specific duties.Two (2) years of project management or progressively responsible work experience.Previous experience in the deployment of Broadband, Housing, or Healthcare initiatives.Previous track record of identifying and securing grant applications for local governments or nonprofit entities.
