(NASDAQ: FCNCA) is a top 20 U.S. financial institution with more than $200 billion in assets.ResponsibilitiesSVB's Startup Banking team is focused on engaging and building deep and authentic client relationships with early-stage founders, clients, prospects and partners. Early-stage constituencies include accelerators/incubators, law firms, universities, industry groups and -stage VC investors (emerging managers).This VP1 Portfolio Management role is responsible for acquiring and managing a portfolio of early-stage technology and life science companies, including speaking with prospects to see if they are a fit for the bank, managing relationships with startup founders, cross-selling bank products and services, managing risk and compliance issues, onboarding and offboarding clients, coordinating with cross-functional SVB teams to deliver world-class service to clients. Core responsibilities include maintaining and expansion of existing client relationships, as well as originating, advising on SVB Commercial Bank products. The individual will need to be able to act independently to resolve client needs and be able to run client meetings independently.The role is responsible for financial performance and risk management of the portfolio. The role is also responsible for leading engagement with high potential prospects, clients, and ecosystem channel partners. The candidate must proactively own the client experience, tailoring client engagement appropriately and be able to take ownership over increasing customer satisfaction (NPS) across portfolios.As part of our culture, all SVBers are responsible for supporting the growth and development of their peers.QualificationsBachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of Relationship Management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 6-8 years of experience.PreferredPrior experience as a startup founder, operator, investor, or ecosystem builderPossess a strong network in the tech or life science startup ecosystemStrong communication, negotiation, marketing and closing skillsHighly skilled relationship builder with a passion for creating a strong client experienceStrong understanding of the business trends impacting the Innovation EconomyAbility to manage time and prioritizeFirst Citizens benefits programs are designed to meet our associates where they are in life.
