Tax Manager

Cover & Rossiter is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and manage multiple operations of the tax practice area and to deliver quality tax services that meet or exceed client objectives. This individual will serve as a business advisor to our clients, aiming to maximize client engagement while achieving qualitative outcomes.CORE COMPETENCIESThe ideal Tax Manager is a self-starter who works independently, schedules, delegates and reviews the work of others, has the ability to handle challenges in a positive and professional manner, provides mentoring to staff and senior accountants, and effectively manages the demands of tax season.In addition, this person will:Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within a specified timeframeBuild relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertiseProvide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returnsMeet or exceed billable hour and utilization goals set by the departmentCoordinate accounting staff, assess their performance, and report on the staff's resultsEffectively support the Directors in development of the firm's business plan and seek out and identify opportunities for process improvement and growthREQUIREMENTS AND SKILLSProven work experience as a Tax ManagerExcellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returnsWorking knowledge of CCH Axcess/ProSystems software, tax research software, and Microsoft Office productsExceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationshipsAnalytical skills with detail orientationDemonstrated ability to lead a tax engagement including, but not limited to:Planning and supervising staffAssigning component tasks and overseeing their completionCommunicating effectively with firm staff, administration and leadershipManaging multiple tasks across multiple engagements simultaneouslyWorking under pressure, meeting required deadlines and solving problemsB.A. or B.S. with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA requiredBENEFITSWe offer a competitive salary and benefits package that includes health insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays, CPE training, employee referral bonus, and free on-site fitness center.ABOUT COVER & ROSSITERCover & Rossiter is an award-winning, full-service CPA accounting and advisory firm providing high-quality advice and personalized service to enable clients to achieve their objectives.
