About the OpportunityJOB SUMMARYThe Associate Director, Careers develops and implements strategic initiatives involving a broad array of university constituents designed to enhance partnerships in recruiting and/or non-recruiting functions and overall internal collaborations with university colleagues and student affinity groups and organizations.The Associate Director serves as a leader and liaison to specific programs and develops relationships with stakeholder partners dependent upon role focus (employers, recruitment, talent, and/or diversity and inclusion of learners). The Associate Director may also provide support and coordination for operations, programs, resources, and services in the Northeastern University ecosystem and provide direct career advising services.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIESDevelops and maintains employer relationships and networks to expand the range of job development and employer recruiting activities.Collaborates to plan and coordinate training, conferences, and other outreach programming for potential employers and represents the University at the same.Performs analysis to set employer outreach targets and to track program and service outcomes.Conceptualizes, designs, implements, and evaluates comprehensive, innovative career education programs and resources for students.Establishes, builds, and expands partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.Collaborates to ensure that the overall suite of programming, employment opportunities, messaging, and other resources are inclusive and accessible.Ensures accurate and timely data reporting and analysis for use in strategic planning.Identifies areas for efficiency or improvement within existing policies and procedures; recommends improvements.Serves on department, division, or university committees and represents the department internally and/or externally.Develops targeted departmental print/web/social media material to support messaging.Participates in professional development and training activities focused on specialty (advising, international, DEI, employer recruitment).Maintains broad current knowledge of career, DEI, industry, employer, and economic trends and their impacts on career paths.Leads team activities. Selects, onboards, and continually develops employees in a way that creates an environment that inspires employees to do their best work.Provides timely feedback about performance throughout the year before conducting a final performance review.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSComprehensive knowledge of career development theories and practices, including career assessment and employer job development.Knowledge of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) principles and experience working with and affirming diverse cultures and backgrounds.Excellent people skills and demonstrated skill in presenting.Ability to work collaboratively in a team.Strong data analysis and technical skills; facility with MS Office applications.Position TypeStudent ServicesAdditional InformationNortheastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education, and skills when extending an offer.Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit-eligible employees.
