Job Description:
Provides a spectrum of image interpretation, image-guided procedures, and patient care services within the specialty of Interventional Radiology and may also possess additional subspecialty expertise. Incumbents will be required to participate in call coverage.
Interested candidates should have a strong desire to assist in the development and maintenance of a new independent interventional radiology department independent of diagnostic radiology at a major tertiary hospital in the twin cities. The candidate should be adept at a broad spectrum of interventional procedures including TIPS/BRTO, radioembolization, ablation, peripheral arterial and venous procedures including thrombolysis, hepatobiliary, GI, lymphatic and genitourinary interventions, non-neuro embolization, and dialysis access interventions.
Ideal candidates will maintain certain diagnostic radiology skills such as hepatobiliary and vascular imaging in order to provide optimal service to the multidisciplinary groups, and to the practice.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Review patients medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patients health or situation.
- Proficient in patient evaluation and performance of all body/vascular interventional and general diagnostic radiology, ER and acute inpatient and outpatient cases, with efficiency to be able to read high volumes using computers and related software applications, communicating with a wide variety of clinicians and staff from diverse socio economic and ethnic backgrounds, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with personnel contacted in the course of duties, effective and safe use of equipment, adherence to high reliability skills and behaviors.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, and patient flow. May participate in peer review and quality assurance.
- Policy and procedure creation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an approved school of Medicine
- Completion of an accreditation council for graduate medical education (ACGME) or American osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency training program in Radiology
- Fellowship training in interventional radiology, body, vascular/endovascular, or applicable post-residency training
- Interventional Radiology experience required
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed Physician - Minnesota Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- BC/BE in Radiology, Neurosurgery, Neurology required
- Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
Allina in-house BLS training (upon hire)
