Finance Operations Manager

Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Operations Manager for the Corporate Finance team to oversee financial projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently, within budget, and align with the organization's financial strategies and goals. This role involves providing crucial support to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), overseeing critical projects, and ensuring smooth operations across various teams overseen by the CAO. It will play a key role in helping to optimize how the team optimizes against strategy and scale for growth.

What you'd be doing:
  • Support Chief Accounting Officer and VP, Finance with planning, coordination, and tracking the execution of key strategic initiatives for the Finance department.
  • Hold team members accountable to bridge the gap between strategy and execution, ensuring the timely and effective implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Manage a variety of special projects with organizational impact, collaborating with cross- functional teams to ensure successful completion within deadlines.
  • Take meeting notes and ensure proper follow-up on action items. Oversee the flow of information to ensure it is sequenced and relevant, while tracking and escalating priority issues when needed.
  • Act as a proxy in meetings and communications, representing viewpoints and making decisions when required. Serve as an information funnel and facilitator.
  • Compose internal and external communications, encompassing messages, reports, presentations, Excel sheets, and assorted materials, with a focus on meticulousness, data-driven insights, and impeccable design for optimal output.
  • Responsible for delivery of management and operational reporting, while providing corporate reporting needs (e.g. OKRs) when necessary.
  • Partner with teams to define the scope, objectives, and deliverables, facilitating the development of the project charter, timeline, and resource requirements needed to achieve the objectives.
  • Conduct project meetings across teams, manage project tracking and analysis, and recommend next steps and action items to align leadership and participants. Document lessons learned to guide future projects.
  • Responsible for defining project performance measures, determining data and resource availability, advising on required reporting measures, and recommending methods/tools to track process performance.


We're looking for someone who has:
  • Demonstrate analytical capacity and strong business/financial acumen including proactive assessment of needed process improvements and recommendation of resolutions.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships across multiple stakeholder teams
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end process management
  • Ability to innovate new and creative solutions to existing problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Liaison between technical team, non-technical team members, and clients.
  • Experience with modern project management tools


Highly preferred candidates also have:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Previous Chief of Staff responsibilities preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in management consulting, business transformation and operating model design, process design and modeling, and/or program and project management is preferred.
