Job Description

Serve as an experienced internal consultant leading large scale, complex, enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives supporting various lines of business across Wellmark. You will apply Business Process Management, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies to improvement efforts, maximizing business performance, increasing customer satisfaction, and returning savings to the bottom line. Through coaching, mentoring, and teaching you will work directly with key executives to identify process improvement opportunities and determine the appropriate improvement methodology. You will ensure process management tools and techniques are cultivated and integrated throughout the organization and business results are achieved and sustained.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or direct and applicable work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years process improvement/business process analysis/business process engineering experience including:
  • Leading large scale, complex process improvement initiatives using innovation, critical thinking, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Conducting enterprise-wide redesign initiatives that encompass an end-to-end analysis and implementing future state designs.
  • Driving business awareness of quality and process improvement methodologies.
  • An extensive education in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships to build and maintain ongoing, collaborative working relationships while influencing others to act.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Master's degree.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.


Additional Information

a. Assist the Team Leader in the planning, assignment, and oversight of process improvement projects by analyzing business needs and priorities.

b. Conduct end-to-end process evaluations, overlaid with customer feedback, performance standards and costs, to identify improvement opportunities. Collaborate with functional areas to fully understand and scope these opportunities.

c. Lead transformational enterprise-level improvement initiatives, utilizing Business Process Management, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies to maximize business performance, increase customer satisfaction and return savings to the bottom line.

d. Demonstrate a mastery of a wide variety of process improvement methodologies and tools, including, but not limited to Six Sigma and Lean. Help ensure integrity in using these tools and methodologies as applied by the Process Excellence team.

e. Deliver just-in-time training to project team members on process improvement methodologies, tools, practices and concepts enabling them to expand their process improvement capabilities.

f. Mentor Green Belts, Black Belts, and Lean Practitioners toward peak performance and oversee the certification processes for Six Sigma and Lean.

g. Assist the Team Leader in the creation, alignment, and execution of an integrated process improvement strategy for the enterprise to aid in driving the strategic objectives of Wellmark.

h. Oversee the day-to-day execution of the project ideation, chartering, assignment, and completion, including the management of the Process Excellence project tracking and reporting tool.

i. Lead in the identification and incorporation of industry best practices, benchmarks, and voice of the customer data in support of the process improvement strategy execution.
