The current salary range for this position is $78,200-$123,400 (9-month academic year salary); however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.

Position DescriptionThe Department of Ethnic Studies at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Chicanx/Latinx Studies at the rank of assistant professor.

We encourage applications from scholars that take intersectional and interdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching. The area of specialty is open to scholars of Latino Studies broadly defined. We especially encourage applications from candidates whose areas of expertise include Central American Studies, as well as Afro Latinx studies, Indigenous Latinx Studies, Latinx Inequalities, and Latinx Environmental Studies, among other areas.

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, teach introductory, upper-division, and graduate courses, and undertake service to the department, campus, and university.
