As a Product Development Scientist, you will assist one of our key strategic customers in creating seasonings and spray-dried cheese formulations that meet specific sensory and functional requirements. Reporting to the group’s Manager, the Senior Scientist will be an integral part of a dynamic and collaborative product development team, with a strong focus on customer collaboration. Experience in cheese and/or spray drying is highly valued.Responsibilities:Provide snack seasonings product development support for customers to include building and sustaining relationships within the core customer development teamsGuide technical excellence and differentiation through robust product design, leveraging technology and implementing feedback from internal and external resources in an ever-changing environmentCreate market-preferred snack seasonings through bench top product development, leveraging culinary input, technical innovation and consumer insightsGuide customer requests by interacting with a broad multifunctional team to provide best in class solutionsWhat We Will Bring To The Table:The best people deserve the best rewards. $100,000 - $110,000Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:Minimum 10 years of product development experience in the food industry. Must have seasoning development experience with good understanding from design to scale upBachelor’s Degree in Food Science / Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry or a related fieldStrong understanding of consumer and general sensory testing, including its application to product developmentExperience collecting and interpreting scientific data, including sensory, analytical, and commercializationExperience effectively collaborating across levels and functions within own organization and with outside customers and vendorsAbility and willingness to travel 10-20%Proven success multi-tasking in a fast-paced environmentHigh degree of ownership and professional commitmentDesire and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of peopleGood written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with external and internal customersCuriosity and innovative thinkingProven ability to interpret scientific data, including sensory and analytical, and commercializationPreferred Qualifications:MS Degree and/or PhD in Food Science or a related fieldExperience with SAP, product formulation and retrieval systemsTechnical background with cheese, spray drying, seasonings or combinationProficiency in vendor management and development including the implementation of new ingredients as required
