Job Overview

Pyx Health is looking for a talented and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team at a high-growth startup. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join our growing team and play a pivotal role in building and maintaining our data infrastructure on Azure. You'll leverage your expertise in automation, SQL Server, and healthcare data to design, develop, and implement robust data pipelines that fuel our innovative healthcare solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and cleaning large volumes of healthcare data in the Azure cloud.Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline data operations and ensure data quality, security, and scalability.Design and optimize data models for efficient storage and retrieval of healthcare data using SQL Server.Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective data solutions.Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying and resolving data quality issues proactively.Document data pipelines and processes for clarity and maintainability.Stay up to date with the latest data engineering technologies and trends, particularly in the healthcare domain.Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The Ideal Applicant

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure cloud services (ADLS, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, etc. or similar AWS services).In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, including T-SQL scripting, data modeling, and query optimization.Can start, run, manage, and complete a technical project with minimal project management oversight.Has prior experience as a lead, supervisor, or manager.Can work well with business partners across all branches of the company.Possesses an excellent grasp of root cause analysis.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles, and version control systems is desirable.Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations (HIPAA, HL7, etc.) is a strong plus.
