Personal Injury Associate Attorney

A law firm in Aurora, Illinois, is seeking a skilled Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience focusing on pre-litigation personal injury cases. This role involves managing a diverse caseload from inception to settlement, working closely with other attorneys, and providing exceptional client service. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of personal injury law, excellent research and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage all phases of personal injury cases from intake to settlement.Conduct thorough investigations to establish liability and assess damages.Draft and file legal documents necessary for pre-litigation.Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.Provide exceptional client service by keeping clients informed about their case progress.Collaborate with other attorneys to develop and execute effective case strategies.Lead case management teams to ensure the efficient representation of clients.Conduct legal research and analyze legal precedents, statutes, and regulations.Prepare legal briefs and provide sound legal advice to clients.Coordinate with paralegals, support staff, and other attorneys to manage cases effectively.Maintain organized case files and adhere to deadlines.Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.Requirements:Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Lawyer in good standing to practice law in Illinois.Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury law, with a focus on pre-litigation.Excellent knowledge of state laws, regulations, and legal procedures related to personal injury cases.Proven track record of successful case management and client representation.Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and apply legal precedents and statutes.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including drafting and reviewing legal documents.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.Skills:In-depth knowledge of personal injury law and pre-litigation processes.Advanced legal research and analytical abilities.Proficiency in drafting legal documents and negotiating settlements.Excellent client service and communication skills.Proven ability to manage caseloads efficiently and achieve favorable outcomes.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with various stakeholders.Job Location:Benefits Offered:12 paid holidays annually10 days of paid vacation annually6 days of sick leave annuallyMedical insurance for enrolled employees (optional dependent coverage available at employee's cost)Optional Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurance plans401(k) with a 4% fully vested safe-harbor company matchCommunications stipend for remote employeesTraining and continuing education budgetRegular firm events (happy hours, team building, holiday party, etc.)Laptops are replaced every 3 years; after 3 years, the work laptop becomes the personal laptop.
